Is the Price Right?

Jaroslav Halak. A player all fans will miss for ever. Brought the team farther then anyone expected. But one goalie needed to go. Halak was traded to St.Louis. Who was left?

Carey Price.

Pierre Gauthier was so confident Price could repeat last years incredible playoffs that he decided to keep the young goaltender. But after the last 2 seasons of miserable stats and a 3-2 loss in the first game of the Season against Rival Toronto makes fans wonder: Is The Price Right?

Im not talking about his $2,750,000 contract. Im talking about the goalie that the most storied team in NHL history has put their faith in. Showing from what the fans have acted, they have no faith in Price. He has been booed countless time, including in the 4-1 loss to Boston in the first exhibition game where he let in 4 goals on 8 shots. Ouch. Looks like he is not the next Patrick Roy.

From Tootoo_22 from leafsjambalaya.blogspot.com: Why are all the Habs fans so delusional? Carey Price is a great goaltender, good enough to make the NHL. If you want to play with the most storied franchise in the entire league and do well, then go ahead.

I totally agree. He is a great goalie. He was able to make the NHL. He is won a Calder cup and a WJC, something most goalies are unable to do. He has struggled so far in the NHL, but geez, he is still only 23. He has time to continue to get better.

Or does he?

He has to perform to continue to be in the NHL. If by the end of his contract he is not proven to be a starting goalie, his career will probably be finished. Well at least in the NHL. Could it be because he is in a hockey hotbed like Montreal? Would he have all the pressure if he was on, say, Nashville?

Im a huge fan of Price and hopes he continues to play with them and play well.

If this does not happen, Good-bye Scary Carey.
